Madhyamik Begins
10: Day I
Today was the day for which I have waited from my childhood, rather
from my first day of the school. Reaching the apex of Boards
examinations, reminders of memories blushed my minds from the
pictograph of my school days mostly the first day. Anyway that's a
different story, today I will narrate the experience of this very day,
special for any of us, the students.
I woke up early at 7:15 am, washed in the toilet and got ready to study
a few last minute question and answers from the suggestion book. Read
upto 9. Then I went to bath, bathed in cold water and applied a lot of
soap and shampoo for already I was feeling like a special day! Got
ready in the school uniform after a long time since Pre-boards Test
Examinations and except the day admit cards were distributed. Had a
little lunch or breakfast with usual meal comprising of a vegetables
"jhol" or liquid curry, and rice. I wore the black chrome analog watch
which I liked the most and set for the exam.
Bengali Teacher, Jethima and others including Mishtu Didi bid me luck.
We took an auto-rickshaw to Eashbehari (Kalighat) metro station, and
boarded the train with few other pupils or school mates from other
sections around 10. We arrived at the Master Da Surya Sen station,
which was a wonderfully crafted metro station like the Garia one, which
is situated on overfly section of the railway. The place was quite calm
and cozy with a touch of scenery. The Khanpur Boys School where we were
scheduled was just a little opposite the road, 2mins from the station.
The school building comprised of a Girls wing which remained close, and
the boys wing where we and other 2 schools were venued. According to my
roll no of A*G-0108 we were venued at room no. 9. The first time I saw
a little chaotic situation at school. The guardians were allowed
straight to the examination hall, at the ground floor we had the seats.
And the guardians stayed there relaxing respective students till
invigilator ordered them to leave. I asked ma and baba to leave soon,
because I was not in favour of the situation prevailing with
overreactions from parents. Bag wasnt allowed, so Ma took it with her.
The room was large one, 2 pupils seating on each bench. The bench and
desk was bound together with piece of wooden breach. The invigilator
with large glasses a jeans and black tee, and another with checked
brown shirt, a little short distributed the question papers at 11:45. I
rushed through the questions, and beyond my imagination they set
"Duranta Asha" by Rabindranath Tagore or "Chithi" which I havent read
for once, as Rapid Reader 10marks question. I was on the side of
Shwagata poem which meant to be set then, but unfortunately didnt.
Anyway I opted for Duranta Asha during answering. Question papers were
little short than our school questions, and answer sheet front page
contained lots of things including boxes for our info and question
info, etc. The essay I attempted among 4 (or 5) was Your aim in life.
As usual I started with my primary aim of being a Human being with
definition in my style and then moved to Air Force Elite Swat along
with how to achieve and why I like that and what to do with that. The
paper was easy all over, dont know what will happen at last. The school
was also calm and quiet and wonderful experience. First time in a whole
different situation but unlike others I kept it usual and cool as ever.
I returned home with Ma and Dadu (Sourav Uncle's Father) at 3:45.
