Today was a special one. In the morning at 6 o'clock I got up and prepared myself for NCC examination. Mama came on his bike to pick me up early in the morning, and we spend a little time mapping the exact location of exam venue through Google Earth. We left for Behala Air Field and without much hesitation reached the spot. The Behala Air Field, later I came to know, was a air strip for air training, and there were hundreds of other boys waiting too. Soon we were called, sorted according to height in a disciplined way and sat on the concrete ground inside the hangar for the examination. It was a question paper of 1 page, both faces, comprising fill ups, mcq, and true/false. I got most of them correct and was sorted in the group with marks 40-50 out of 50. So I was ultimately selected! And I was assorted to visit Air Squadron Head Quarter 9th at 10:30 am for Identity Card registration.
